What are the powertrain options available?

Ford looks to outfit the Fusion with a powertrain kit that offers strong performance while on the road with high-end fuel economy ratings. Coming standard with the initial trim levels of the Fusion is a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine that can produce up to 173 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. Each engine with the Fusion is matched with a 6-speed automatic transmission and given the choice between a front-wheel-drive or an all-wheel-drive configuration. If you are looking for a little extra response and power, the Fusion SE model comes packed with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost inline-4 engine that can produce 181 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. This engine also boasts the highest city/highway fuel economy out of the options, with a rating of 23/34 mpg respectively. Working up to the Titanium trim model will bring in a 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline-4 engine that utilizes its turbocharged design to push out an enhanced 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque.

How are the trim models outfitted with features?

With the 2020 Fusion, Ford offers four different trim model options to select from starting with the base Fusion S trim model that establishes the starting kit of features established in each other trim. Some of the key features that Ford brings in with the S trim includes LED taillights, 16-inch wheels with all-season tires, manual air conditioning, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, powered windows with one-touch up/down, split-folding rear seats for additional storage potential, and a multimedia system on a 4.2-inch screen with USB port, Bluetooth connectivity, and a rearview camera. The Ford SE adds in even more features, starting with the addition of an 8-inch touchscreen display that brings in smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other great features found with the SE trim includes larger 17-inch wheels, power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support, additional USB ports, a reverse sensing system, and dual-zone automatic temperature control. The SEL trim adds in a few more comforts and features that enhance the convenience of the Fusion bringing in LED headlights, memory settings for seat positions, a premium audio system with 11 speakers, keyless entry with push-button start, and larger 18-inch wheels. The 2020 Fusion Titanium is the highest level trim model offered, taking the features found with the SEL trim and adding on LED fog lamps, a power-operated moonroof, 19-inch wheels, additional ambient interior lighting elements, premium heated/ventilated front seats, and more!

What are some of the core safety features brought in with the 2020 Fusion?

Ford has a strong commitment to producing top-rated vehicles in performance as well as safety; the 2020 Fusion received a full 5-star rating from the NHTSA for overall safety, proving to be an exceptional representation of Ford’s effort to create a safe ride. This all starts with the core set of safety and security based features brought into every Fusion, including features such as the AdvanceTrac Electronic Stability Control and Brake-Actuated Traction control system, Ford’s advanced airbag system, individual tire pressure monitoring, hill-start assist, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and seatbelt pre-tensioners. With every Fusion, you will also find an advanced Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assist bundle that adds on automatic high-beams, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, a lane-keeping assist system, and a pre-collision assist system that activates emergency brakes automatically.
