Here Are Some Things You Can Do on Your Own
Before we get to the maintenance schedule, we would like to go over some of the aspects of your on-road companion that you can check for yourself. First, there are the things that deserve attention once a month. These are listed as follows.
- Oil level
- All interior and exterior lights
- Wear on tires
Below are parts of your Escape that should be examined about every six months.
- Battery connections
- Cooling system fluid level
- Door weatherstrips for wear
Additionally, be sure to keep the air pressure inside your tires at the level specified in your owner’s manual.
7,500 Miles
When you’re Ford Escape reaches the 7,500-mile mark, it will be time for it to receive an oil change and have its oil filter replaced. A multipoint inspection will be performed as well. This will include the following.
- Battery performance
- Exhaust system
- Steering and linkage
At this time, it will also be necessary for a tire rotation to take place. This procedure is important because it allows your tires to last as long as possible by making sure wear and tear are spread evenly across each of their surfaces.
15,000 Miles
It will be time again to pay a visit to the service center when you’ve noticed 15,000 miles on the odometer. Everything that took place the last time needs to occur again. In addition to all of that, the cooling system and hoses should be checked out along with the following.
- Brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, lines, and hoses
- Parking brake system
- Exhaust system and heat shields
On top of that, the steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, half shafts, drive shaft, and u-joints will all have to be inspected and lubricated.
If your Escape has a cabin air filter, it’s likely that it will require a replacement once it has reached this point.
22,500 Miles
At 22,500 miles, it will be time again for an oil and oil filter change, a multipoint inspection, and a tire rotation.
