Ford offers five Explorer trim levels in the 2021 model year. The base trim is equipped with features like a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a power liftgate, an 8-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi, and tri-zone automatic climate control. The other trim levels build on the standard features with even more features like roof rails, heated front seats, second-row USB ports, interior ambient lighting, navigation, a wireless charging pad, paddle shifters, a sport-tuned suspension, sport front seats, and a digital gauge cluster display.
Can you talk about the 2021 Explorer’s engine options?
In the 2021 model year, the Explorer can be powered by one of two engines. The base engine is a 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that pumps out up to 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The upper trim levels can be powered by the available 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine that creates up to 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Ford mates both engines to an automatic 10-speed transmission. The standard drivetrain configuration is rear wheel drive while all-wheel drive is available.
