Airy, Woodbine, or Frederick, MD, and you need a vehicle with the capability of an SUV but the convenience, economy, and ride experience of a compact car, the Ford EcoSport should be on your short list. This subcompact crossover is the smallest SUV Ford offers, and it does a great job of combining all the features you want in an economical crossover.

2021 Ford EcoSport Trim Levels and Technology
The 2021 Ford EcoSport is available in four trim levels. The first is the entry-level S trim. This one gets you a six-speaker sound system with dual USB charge ports. You also get an integrated Wi-Fi 4G LTE hotspot that allows everyone to stay connected on the go, as well as cruise control for long drives.
At the mid-range SE level, you get some more technology features including keyless entry and ignition, parking sensors, navigation, and the full Ford SYNC® 3 infotainment interface driven by an 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration and satellite radio. At the top two trims, the SES and Titanium, you add features like auto-dim heated mirrors, power heated seats, a heated steering wheel, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system with eight speakers. You can also opt for some appearance packages.
Ford EcoSport Powertrains
The base engine for the Ford EcoSport is a 1.3-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine with 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque. It's standard on the S, SE, and Titanium trim levels.
When you step up to an all-wheel-drive model (standard on the SES and optional on all other trims), you get a 166-horsepower, 149-lb-ft, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine.
What's New for 2021?
For 2021, the EcoSport comes with a few feature upgrades. The biggest is that several features have been shuffled around a bit, so that you get them at standard levels instead of add-on options.
You also may notice a sleeker, sportier look and a more upscale feel to the EcoSport thanks to its updated exterior look and cabin design.
Cargo Space and Storage
The EcoSport offers plenty of small-item storage thanks to generous door pockets and a large center console. For cargo storage or hauling luggage or groceries around, behind the back seats you'll get over 20 cubic feet of space. With all the seats folded down, this expands to a whopping 50 cubic feet of room to haul whatever you like. It's a very impressive amount of space for a subcompact crossover.
Another advantage when it comes to loading up your car is that the tailgate is side-hinged, so it opens like a door. That makes it a great option for loading gear when you're curbside, or when you need to access the back of your car in a tight parking situation.
